CoAnimate Workshop on “(Dis)information”

A CoAnimate workshop is a collaborative creative process in which teams work with facilitators to develop concepts for explanatory animated videos, create scripts, and design visuals for the videos, all with the goal of conveying ideas, knowledge, and stories quickly and clearly.

As part of the CoAnimate Workshop, two videos were created on disinformation and how information is perceived by the public.
The first video demonstrates how framing works—a technique that influences how we perceive facts and news. Cognitive and social psychologists explain how wording and context can alter our emotions and conclusions.

The second video tells the story of a family of Russian Germans (late resettlers) in Germany who were torn apart by politics and social conflicts. It is a story about learning to listen to and understand one another again. Representatives of the Russian-German community and journalist Irina Peter, author of the book “Deutsch genug? Warum wir endlich über Russlanddeutsche sprechen müssen,” participated in the creation of the videos. The second video was created in two versions (with the Instagram format adapted using AI) to attract a younger audience.

The third video introduces viewers to the Vote2025go tool. It helps people better understand German politics, learn about party platforms, and clarify their own stances in order to more effectively counter misinformation in political discourse in the future.
