100 STORIES ABOUT WINE
fascinating wine regions, unusual styles
October 10, 2026
18:00-19:30
Whether there will be exactly one hundred stories is hard to say – but one thing is certain: it will be fascinating and informative!

You’ll hear stories about fascinating wine regions, discover unusual grape varieties and learn about the wines made from them. In this lecture, we’ll trace the history of winemaking from its origins to the present day and find out whether it’s possible to make good wine, for example, in Poland (spoiler: it is).

What’s right – and what’s wrong – with supermarket wines? Why do some wines cost €3–4, while others cost €300–400? And why can wine be considered one of the most important parts of humanity’s intangible cultural heritage? We’ll talk about how closely European culture and wine are intertwined.

Come to the lecture if you know and love wine – you’re sure to discover something new. And all the more so if the only thing you know about wine is that it comes in red, white and sparkling varieties.
