Excursion
to the Former Stasi Prison

July 19

On July 19, a special tour took place at the site of the former Stasi prison — a place that for many years became a symbol of fear and oppression during the Cold War. Participants had the opportunity to hear a firsthand account from an eyewitness who endured harsh imprisonment and to uncover the secrets hidden behind the walls of this institution.

Walking through the corridors and cells, visitors felt as though they had stepped into the past, when the lives of many people were under constant surveillance and the threat of suspicion. The tour provided insight into the methods the Stasi used to control society and the consequences that followed.

The program was conducted in Russian, allowing participants to more deeply experience the atmosphere of the place and reflect on its history. For everyone, it was not only an introduction to one of the darkest chapters of the past but also a reminder of the importance of freedom and human resilience.
