About European Values in Simple Science Terms
WISSEN TRIFFT WERTE
The “Wissen trifft Werte” project creates a space where scholars discuss Europe in an engaging and accessible way. Through lively discussions and interactive formats, they show how a wide range of fields—from physics to cultural studies—help shape our understanding of European values, the structure of society, and the foundations of our shared life.
The project’s goal is to explain complex topics—such as democracy and freedom of expression, human rights and dignity, solidarity and humanism, responsibility for the future, and critical thinking and integrity—in a clear, accessible, and practical way.

"I loved Science Salon because everyone could choose a topic to their liking, feel the creativity of the speakers, join the discussions, and even take home a prize. The atmosphere was cozy, warm, and highly engaging."

"I really enjoyed the event! A fresh and unusual format, lots of interesting information, yet everything was dynamic and not boring at all thanks to interactive elements. I particularly loved how well-thought-out the themed decor was — even the cocktails at the bar had a scientific twist. The speakers were genuinely passionate about their topics, and being able to chat with them in an informal setting was a huge plus. And of course, the plov was just amazing!"

"Thanks for a wonderful day, interesting ideas, and delicious food! The talk on message encryption turned out to be truly deep, with a serious dive into physics; it's just a pity that the speaker didn't have quite enough time for the presentation. And a special thanks for those nice little touches, like the drinks with QR codes telling you which cocktail you are! 😄"

"Really interesting talks, friendly volunteer guys, treats made with love, and raffles. I had a wonderful time, thank you so much!"

"Science Slam is a prime example of how science can be talked about in a lively, engaging, and humorous way. It’s especially valuable that Berlin has initiatives like wir.de that support young scientists and help make science more accessible and understandable to the general public.
I really loved the organization: everything went smoothly and flawlessly, with great attention to detail and a wonderful atmosphere. A special bonus was the delicious plov during the break, which hit the spot perfectly."
